MINI RESEARCH: JAMIE HEWLETT

I'M TYPING THIS ENTIRE ENTRY IN CAPS BECAUSE I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I HAVEN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THIS ARTIST UNTIL TODAY. I'M GONNA' HAVE TO RETHINK MY ENTIRE PRESENTATION NOW OH LORD. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!

THIS MAN. JAMIE HEWLETT (ALONG WITH DAMON ALBARN) QUITE LITERALLY DEFINED MY ENTIRE CHILDHOOD.

ugh

Shitty weather was shitty.

For the entire weekend no less; couldn't take any photos of my old primary school because of that. I'll have to go with sometime this weekday/weekend.

miniscule update

Been trying to come up with sketches of these pseudo!Monkey and Pigsy sketches for my 302 project, I'm trying to include these characters as part of a mixed media (?) series of narratives.

I'll update this blog with said sketches very shortly.

mini research: nicolas marlet

I'm really keen on presenting Nicolas Marlet for my Thursday presentation, but unfortunately there's not a lot of information about him online. Checked the library but that was pretty fruitless as well.

Either way, he's an artist who's also been incredibly influential and I'll try and see if I can find more information about him so that I can include him in my lineup of artists to present.

update: oh, found a link to an interview with Marlet, awesome. :)

mini research: yan wei

For 302 we have to introduce 3 (or is it 5) artists to our group. Haven't really started working on what I'm actually going to say, but I've got Beijing-based artist Yan Wei in mind.

Been a huge fan of her work for a while now. Thought it'd be appropriate to include her as part of my mini presentation.

obligatory intro post

I used a blog as a method of jolt down any thoughts and ideas, inspirations and updates on all of my projects at Elam. It worked pretty well, so I figured I'd give it another go.

First thing's first. Gotta' head off to come up with ideas for what I'll do for my 302 brief. Along with 5 artists for my presentation next week.
